The Angel of the North is a 66 ft tall, 177 ft wide sculpture by Antony Gormley, located in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England. Erected in 1998, it's an iconic public statue just south of Newcastle.
"I used to create stencils and then I spray painted them onto canvas," says Bryce. "I did one of the Angel of the North years ago, and I ended up giving that piece to someone. The Angel of the North is such an amazing artwork, and I've been on a kick to paint statues that are important to the communities they inspire, so I decided to do it again with the matte black surrounding a glow-in-the-dark & blacklight version of the Angel. This is truly three paintings in one.
"I've always been drawn to Gormley's work. His style is classic, but uniquely his. This is one of his masterpieces, and definitely my favorite."
